The physics

Straight lines: Light moves in straight lines through a uniform material.

Seeing: Light must enter our eyes for us to see an object.

Mirrors: The incoming and outgoing light rays make equal angles with the normal, which is an imaginary line at right angles to the mirror.

Shadows: An opaque object blocks light. With a point torch and a screen in fixed positions, moving the object towards the torch makes its shadow larger.

Model: Flat mirrors, straight rays and a point light source. Distances and heights are measured in centimetres (cm).
