Paint Mix Studio

Measure paint drops to match a recipe and a batch size. Scale equivalent ratios while comparing illustrative colour swatches.

Theory and model assumptions

Equivalent ratios multiply every component by the same positive factor k. For a:b and total T, k=T/(a+b), with amounts ka and kb. The displayed colour is the count-weighted arithmetic average of display RGB channels. This is an illustrative colour blend, not a physical pigment or spectral model. Success checks exact integer quantities and the specified total; colour appearance alone is insufficient.

Teacher guidance

The swatch is a visual cue, not an assessment by eyesight. Colour names and exact counts support learners who cannot distinguish the colours. Discuss why all amounts must use the same scale factor.

Expected time: 10–15 minutes.
