3D printing materials
Choose the material from the part's environment and function, then select the matching filament profile in Bambu Studio before slicing.
Quick choice
A material name does not guarantee identical performance across brands or product variants. Use this table to narrow the choice, then follow the spool manufacturer's profile and technical data.

PLA
Why it works: PLA is stiff, prints cleanly and holds small details well. Its low tendency to warp makes it useful for checking a new design quickly.
Good uses: Concept models, name badges, display pieces, light-duty brackets, organisers and fit-test prototypes.
Take note: Do not choose it for a hot car, near motors or for long-term outdoor use. A printed PLA object is not automatically food-safe.

PETG
Why it works: PETG combines useful impact resistance with better heat and moisture resistance than standard PLA while remaining relatively easy to print.
Good uses: Protective covers, containers, workshop organisers, clips, brackets and parts used around splashes or humidity.
Take note: Dry it if the print becomes stringy or rough. PETG can bond strongly to some plate surfaces, so use the plate and release layer specified by the manufacturer.

ABS
Why it works: ABS is durable and has a higher heat-deflection temperature than PLA or PETG in Bambu Lab's material comparison.
Good uses: Tool housings, protected electronics enclosures, jigs, fixtures and indoor mechanical parts exposed to moderate heat.
Take note: Print in an enclosed printer with suitable room ventilation. Large parts can warp as they cool; keep the chamber closed and follow the filament profile.

TPU
Why it works: TPU is elastic, abrasion resistant and useful where a rigid plastic would crack or slip.
Good uses: Protective bumpers, feet, grips, cable strain reliefs, soft hinges, seals and flexible cases.
Take note: Flexible filament needs a controlled feed path and slower printing. Standard TPU is not the same as TPU made for AMS use; check the exact spool's AMS compatibility before loading it.

ASA
Why it works: ASA offers strong resistance to ultraviolet light and weather, together with higher heat resistance than PLA and PETG.
Good uses: Outdoor sensor housings, signs, garden fixtures, vehicle accessories and brackets exposed to sun and rain.
Take note: Use an enclosed printer and suitable ventilation. Control cooling and drafts because ASA can warp, especially on larger parts.
