How to use the X1 Carbon
Each step includes the matching printer or Bambu Studio visual so the action is easy to identify.
Step 1
Prepare the printer
Begin with a clean, correctly seated build plate, a clear chamber, a clean nozzle and filament that matches the planned job.
Remove old prints, purge strands and loose support pieces.
Seat the build plate flat between the rear guides.
Check the filament, plate type and printer warnings before starting.
Step 2
Prepare the model
Import the model, confirm its scale and orientation, then match the X1 Carbon, nozzle and build plate presets to the physical setup.
Import the model into Bambu Studio.
Select X1 Carbon, the correct nozzle, plate and filament.
Orient the model flat and keep it inside the build area.
Step 3
Match the filament
Load the spool into the AMS, confirm its material profile and map the model to the correct AMS slot before slicing.
Load the spool so it can rotate freely.
Confirm the material and colour shown for the AMS slot.
Map the model to the correct filament slot in Bambu Studio.
Step 4
Slice and inspect
Slice the plate, inspect the toolpaths from the first layer upward and correct unsupported, missing or out-of-bounds geometry before sending the job.
Click Slice plate to generate the printer instructions.
Use Preview to check the first layer, walls, supports and bridges.
Fix problems in Prepare, then slice again before sending.
Step 5
First-layer check
Watch the complete first layer. Continue only when the lines are even, joined and firmly attached; stop the print if filament lifts, gathers around the nozzle, crosses debris, leaves gaps or is dragged across the plate.
A good first layer has even lines that touch each other and stay flat.
Stop if lines lift or curl, filament follows the nozzle, or gaps remain between lines.
Stop and clear loose purge strands, old plastic or blobs before restarting.

Step 6
Removing the print
Let the bed cool, remove the flexible plate from the printer and release the part without prying against the machine or damaging the plate surface.
Let the plate cool before removing the print.
Lift the flexible plate out by the tab and edges.
Flex the plate gently; use a plastic scraper only if needed.
After removing the print
Refit the build plate correctly
Align the rear edge first so the magnetic plate settles flat instead of landing on a guide or trapping debris underneath.
Clean loose bits from the magnetic bed.
Place the rear edge between the two back guides, then slide it back until it touches the stops.
Lower the front flat and check that all four corners sit down evenly.
